Concrete Foundation Construction – From Start to Finish

You can count on us to follow the plans and meet every code requirement—your foundation will be done right from the ground up.

STEP 1

Site Walk & Plan Review

We meet on-site to walk the area and go over your plans. This ensures we understand the layout, elevation, setbacks, and any special considerations before work begins.

STEP 2

EXCAVATION OF FOUNDATION FOOTINGS

We have the right equipment to excavate your foundation footings safely and efficiently. If needed, we can also haul away excess soil to keep your site clean and ready for the next phase. Also before proceeding we make sure you schedule a deputy inspector to do a soil compaction test which is required by the city.

STEP 3

cordinate Install Utilities

We will help you coordinate with any subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, or conduit that must go beneath the slab or through the foundation walls.

STEP 4

SET FORMS

Setting forms for concrete foundations begins by verifying layout and elevation to match the plans. After excavating to the proper depth, we install sturdy, level, and square form boards, braced securely to hold shape during the pour and inspection.

STEP 5

Reinforce AND PLACE HARDEWARE

Once forms are set, we install rebar per plan, using chairs or dobies to keep it at the correct height. All rebar is tied securely to prevent movement during the pour. We also place anchor bolts, hold-downs, and sleeves as needed, ensuring proper spacing, alignment, and compliance with code and project specs.

STEP6

CITY INSPECTION

Once forms and reinforcement are complete, we schedule a city inspection if required. The inspector checks form alignment, footing depth, rebar placement, and hardware installation to ensure everything meets local building codes. No concrete is poured until the work is approved.

STEP6

PLACE AND FINISH CONCRETE

After passing inspection, we begin placing concrete in a steady, controlled pour to avoid cold joints or weak spots. The mix is vibrated or rodded as needed to eliminate air pockets and ensure full contact around rebar and hardware. Once placed, we screed the surface level, float it smooth, and apply a finish appropriate for the type of foundation—whether it’s left rough for framing or troweled smooth for a slab. We then edge and detail any required joints, ensuring a clean, durable finish ready for curing.

STEP6

SAW CUT,CLEAN UP AND WALKTHROUGH

After the concrete has set and gained sufficient strength, we return to make saw cuts at the designated control joints to help prevent cracking. We then clean up the site, remove all formwork and debris, and ensure the area is safe and presentable. Finally, we walk the project with the client to confirm satisfaction and answer any questions, ensuring every detail meets expectations before we consider the job complete.
